you take back your words
just as easily as you gave them
one thing means something
then it becomes nothing
and i look like a fool
maybe its because you used to have meaning behind what you said
but now you say anything to keep me at the end of your fishing line
you pull a little when you need it
and let go when it’s convenient
leaving me to feel like a fish out of water
gasping for breath
wondering when you’ll release me
so i can finally breathe again underwater
